Trump says he will get rid of the rules that back gender transition programs and treatments all over the U.S.
After his campaign for re-election, Donald Trump, the newly elected president, has made clear plans to strictly ban gender-affirming care for both children and adults as soon as he takes office.
In a recent video statement, the incoming president promised to end government support for programs that help people of all ages change their sex or gender. “Here’s my plan to stop the chemical, physical, and emotional mutilation of our youth,” Trump told us.
“I will take back Joe Biden’s rules on so-called gender-affirming care on the first day in office.” It’s silly. a process that includes changing kids’ looks, giving them drugs to stop puberty, and finally operating on them when they are still young. “Can you believe this?” he asked, promising to sign an order that would force all government programs that help people change their gender to stop.
Trump also wants to ask Congress to stop taxpayer money from going to gender-affirming treatments and to push for a federal bill that would stop all over the country “sexual mutilation” of children.
He also wanted to keep hospitals and other healthcare providers that offer these services out of Medicaid and Medicare. He also wanted to give people the right to sue doctors who gave gender-affirming care to children. Trump then talked about possible probes into drug companies and hospital systems that, in his view, may have hidden the bad effects of gender-transitioning treatments.
He wanted to look into the distribution of alleged hormone and puberty blockers, make sure that kids’ parents agree to any gender or identity changes, and support what he called “positive nuclear families” with traditional gender roles.
As part of Trump’s policy agenda is a bill in Congress that would only accept male and female genders, as assigned at birth.
