EBONYI: Bus Plunges Into River

On Friday, September 19, a bus while traveling from Akaeze-Ukwu River in Ebonyi State plunged into the river.

According to reports,  over 30 passengers plunged into a River on Friday, 13 bodies have been recovered while others are still missing, and also that the passengers where returning from a burial

Onyebuchi Ogbadu, the chairman of the local government, confirming the incident said:

“The divers were able to locate the bus and pushed it up to enable the crane to pull it out,”

“The driver said he was carrying 32 persons in the so we are still looking for about 13 or more persons.”

The driver of coaster bus with Reg no. UKP 78 XA Mr Nwaonu Chinedu a native of IKWO LGA of the State survived and five of the passengers, who were rescued and rushed to hospital.

Meanwhile, one of the victims died at the hospital while the others are still reportedly unconscious, while 13 others are still missing.
