Following the report of the arrest of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for alleged fraud and forgery, he has cleared the air saying he was only invited for a friendly chat and not arrested.
Fani-Kayode condemned the report describing it as “fake news”.
He further said joining the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party does not place him above the law and does not give him immunity even if he was arrested.
The former minister wrote on Twitter, @realFFK: “I pity those that said I was arrested. They are filled with hate and live on fake news. Since when does an invitation and a friendly chat become an arrest? And even if I had been arrested, SO WHAT? I am not above the law and neither does joining APAC give me immunity. My God is MIGHTY!”
