Karen Igho, the victor of the 2011 Big Brother Africa, has taken to social media to express her urgent need for assistance, disclosing her challenges with homelessness, abuse, and difficulties within her marriage.
Igho elucidated her circumstances in a video disseminated on X.com on Wednesday, presenting herself within a shelter.
“I wish to demonstrate that it is indeed I, and I am, in fact, without a home,” she articulated. “I found myself in the confines of a homeless shelter, where I have resided for over a year.” I have been traversing between various shelters.
In her video, she articulated her appreciation for the support she had garnered and implored her audience to contribute to a GoFundMe account she provided, aiming to obtain assistance in securing accommodation and restoring custody of her children.
“I kindly request that you exercise discretion and thoughtfulness in your evaluations and remarks that you share.” Were it not for my presence, I would remain concealed.
“I experience a certain degree of discomfort in expressing this, yet when it pertains to my offspring, I am prepared to undertake any endeavor for their well-being,” she articulated.
The reality television personality, on Tuesday, articulated her challenging circumstances, disclosing her decision to pursue a divorce from her estranged spouse while striving to reclaim custody of her children.
Igho, who entered into matrimony with Yaroslav Rakos, a citizen of the Czech Republic, in 2014 during a private ceremony in Jos, Plateau State, has alleged that her estranged spouse is endeavoring to obtain custody of their children by making unfounded assertions regarding her mental stability.
Her post stated, “I am currently navigating a divorce from my husband; I have experienced homelessness for a year, and I have endured both sexual and physical harm. Therefore, if any situation arises, please inquire about or confront the man who brought me to this country, where I am unfamiliar with anyone. He is attempting to take my children by claiming that I am mentally unwell.”
“May the divine presence bestow blessings upon Nigeria and Africa; my heartfelt prayers are with your daughter of the soil.” This past year has presented a multitude of challenges for me. I kindly request the prayers of the African community for my children and myself. If you do not receive further communication from me, please understand that I have met with a fatal end. I am not experiencing any mental illness, nor do I engage in drug use.
