Godwin Obaseki wins the Edo PDP Primaries unopposed just three days after he has to join Nigeria’s main opposition party.
Imasuagbon has said he won’t step down for Obaseki before the primary election announces but has withdrawn just some minutes before the party primaries start.
another arc competitor of Obaseki for the PDP ticket, Engr. Gideon Ikhine has stepped down earlier for the incumbent governor, that left the All Progressive Congress (APC) when the party disqualifies him to contest for the primaries before he joins the opposition party, PDP, on Friday. Though Imasuagbon has stepped down from the contest where 2,229 delegates choose the PDP governorship flagbearer, the voting still happened to confirm the winning of Godwin Obaseki as the PDP governorship candidate.
