Unknown gunmen have killed and burnt the bodies of two police officers in Anambra State.
This was announced in a statement issued by Ikenga Tochukwu, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra Police Command, on Sunday.
According to the statement, the killed officers were travelling with their colleagues when they were ambushed by the gunmen.
The bodies of the slain officers were burnt by the gunmen, while one officer is still missing, the police said.
The statement read “In the attack, two police officers were killed and their bodies were burnt while one of the officers is still missing,” .
The police stated that other officers were able to fight their way out of the ambush and rescue two civilian drivers travelling with them.
