Gunmen Shot A Woman In Failed Attempt To Abduct Two Teachers In Kwara

 On Thursday, Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers  shot a woman in a failed attempt to abduct two teachers at Osi, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The teachers are female staff of Ikerin Secondary School in Ekiti Local Government Area.

It was further gathered that the women were returning home after the close of work when the gunmen accosted them.

According to the spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, “around 1630 hours, our operatives at Araromi Opin, Ekiti Divisional Office, got a distress call about a failed kidnap attempt.

The statement added

“They were later joined by local hunters and went straight to the scene of the incident.”

Babawale, said on getting to the scene of the crime, the gunmen had disappeared, though one of the two women sustained minor bullet wounds and she is currently in an undisclosed hospital in the town.

“The NSCDC command’s tactical team of Operation Harmony and local hunters have joined the operatives of the defence corps in the town to launch a manhunt for the gunmen”.
