The Harmattan is a season in West Africa that occurs between the end of November and the middle of March.
This season differs from winter, because it is characterized by cold, dry, dust-laden wind, and also wide fluctuations in the ambient temperatures of the day and night.
The air smells like harmattan already. Although it hasn’t appeared fully, signs are beginning to show that our ‘Nigerian winter’ is here.
This is the season people have clogged nostrils, the dusty environment, dry and flaky skins for those who have refused to moisturize.
In this article, I will list out the basic ways to pass through this season.
1.)Drink Lots Of Water
Water is crucial for survival, even as the harmattan season draws near.
The amount of water within the body is maintained in a close range by the kidneys. Hydration is the process of increasing the amount of water available or present. It is useful to facilitate the replacement of lost water.
In this season, Stay hydrated at all times because your body needs a lot of fluid intake this time.
2.) Eat Lots Of Fruits
Take lots of natural fruits to help build your immune system to fight the ‘cold virus again.’
Fruits are an excellent source of essential vitamins and minerals, and they are high in fiber. Fruits also provide a wide range of health-boosting antioxidants, including flavonoids.
3.) Moisturize Your Skin
Moisturizers, which rehydrate the top layer of skin cells and seal in the water, are one of the best ways to treat dry skin.
Do not go around in this season without Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly applied on your lips and skin.
