In a Widely Shared Video, An Afenifere Youth Leader Pleads For a N100 Million Ransom, Saying, “Nigerians Help Me.”

In order to raise the N100 million ransom sought by the kidnappers who threatened to kill him by 3 p.m. on Monday, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, has made a plea to Nigerians.

This was revealed in a widely shared video on Monday that showed the troubled young leader from Afenifere begging for his life.

In the video, Ojajuni was seen pleading with the public for financial support to gain his release while the kidnapper pointed an AK-47 at his chest.

“Nigerians, please help me!” he said. In the video, he begged, “Your donation—N100,000, N50,000, or N1,000,000—can go a long way in saving my life.” Prince Eniola Ojajuni is my name. May you be blessed. Please help me share this video, Aderohunmu.

Abiodun Aderohunmu, the council’s national secretary, verified his kidnapping and disclosed that the abductors have demanded a ransom of N100 million in exchange for his release.

It is with great sadness that the Afenifere National Youths Council announces the abduction of Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, its National President, in Abuja. “He was shot during the assault, and we are very worried about his safety,” the statement said.

To ensure Ojajuni’s liberation, Aderohunmu urged the Federal Government and security forces to act immediately.

Ojajuni’s kidnappers reportedly threatened to kill him if a ransom of N100 million was not paid within 48 hours of the kidnapping.

The stressful conversations between the family and the kidnappers are revealed in an audio tape that has gone viral.

Speaking in anguish, Ojajuni claimed that the kidnappers had already shot him in the buttock and had demanded N100 million.

The kidnappers begged for a lower ransom price when one of the family members spoke with them on the phone.

“What can you do for us, please? How are we paid? The relative inquired.

“We don’t have that kind of money,” the family member said, struggling to negotiate. We have a tiny plot of family land in the hamlet that we intend to sell. We’ll see how much we can raise if we sell it. How can we provide the funds? Where are we supposed to pay?

You have to pay in cash, the kidnapper urged.

The family also begged, “Will you please take N10 million? We are only able to raise that.

The kidnapper said, “God forbid bad thing,” and declined. I promise Almighty God that you won’t hear from me ever again if you keep spouting gibberish. My supervisor recently offered me N100 million, but please let me know if you have a higher offer.

The kidnappers threatened to hurt Prince Ojajuni even more when the family persisted in their pleas.

The Nigeria Police Force has not yet responded to inquiries about the actions taken by its agents to rescue Ojajuni from his kidnappers.
