Israel Asserts That Its Strike In Beirut Killed A Key Hezbollah Commander.

Attack on Beirut: In the southern suburbs of the capital of Lebanon, Israel claimed to have killed Ibrahim Aqil, a top Hezbollah military leader and a stronghold of the militant organization. In the “targeted” strike, at least 12 individuals have lost their lives and 66 more have been injured.

Wave of explosions: This week, thousands of tiny bombs targeted the pagers and walkie-talkies of Hezbollah members, injuring thousands and killing dozens. The explosions left Lebanon reeling.

Israel indicates that it is prepared for war: Israel has declared the start of a “new era” of warfare and is concentrating on its northern border with Lebanon. One of Israel’s most intense aircraft bombardments of Lebanon in the previous year occurred last night.

An area on the verge of collapse: Israel and Hezbollah have been at odds for many years, but they intensified their cross-border assaults following the start of Hamas’s conflict in Gaza, which Hezbollah supports. They are once more on the verge of a full-scale conflict as a result of this week’s strikes.
