A Kenyan Deputy Governor, Gideon Saburi, has been arrested for violating a Coronavirus quarantine order in the country, as he was spotted attending we weddings and burial ceremonies.
Gideon Saburi, who is the Deputy Governor of Kenyan county ‘Kilifi’, ignored the precautionary measures of travellers entering the country from a destination with confirmed cases of Coronavirus to proceed to self-isolation.
He went ahead to attend several weddings and funerals, and mingled with county staff in complete disregard of the government directive aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
The Deputy Governor was arrested by the police on charges of failing to go into self isolation upon arriving the East African country from Germany on March 5.
