The Lagos State Domestic And Sexual Violence Team, DSVRT, has reportedly taken over the case of popular actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka alias Baba Ijesha who was accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl.
The team has confirmed that the case has been submitted to them for legal advice. However, 4 charges are likely to be preferred against Baba Ijesha including the charge of Indecent Treatment of a Child contrary to Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, punishable upon conviction with seven years imprisonment.
A statement from the agency reaffirmed its no tolerance to all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, and its firm commitment to ensuring justice for survivors as still sacrosanct and unchangeable.
