LAWMA Demolished Illegal Trader In Lekki-Epe Express Way

On Thursday, July 4, the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), dislodged and demolished illegal traders, kiosks, and goods in the Awoyaya to Agungi area of the state.

The dislodgement aims to eradicate the daily dumping of waste among the median and setback of the Lekki Expressway.

This was disclosed in a post by the Managing Director of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin on Thursday, July 4.

He said: “Earlier today, the Monitoring and Compliance team, led by Mr. Jimmy Odukoya, continued the #Lawma_gov #OperationDeepCleanLekki enforcement action along the newly rehabilitated Lekki-Epe expressway.

“This enforcement action is being done in partnership with the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (#LAGESCOfficial) led by the non-nonsense Major Cole (Rtd).

“The team dislodged illegal traders and demolished their kiosks and goods along the stretch from Awoyaya to Agungi, including Eleganza Plaza and Abijo.

“This operation aims to eradicate the daily dumping of waste along the median and setback of the Lekki Expressway by these illegal occupants of the setback.

“The location being cleared in the attached videos was formerly a headquarters of cart pushers, fake drug sellers, and other miscreants.

“This exercise will continue until the entire stretch of Lekki-Epe Expressway is sanitized.”
