Rasheedat Ajibade, a winger for Atletico Madrid, won the September Spanish Liga F Player of the Month award, capping the team’s amazing run of success.
Throughout the month, the 24-year-old Nigerian star wowed everyone, going on to score five goals and dish out two assists in four league games for Atletico.
Her outstanding performances astounded her opponents and cemented her place among the league’s best players.
Ajibade defeated other elite athletes to win the prize, defeating Ewa Pajor of Barcelona, Caroline Weir of Real Madrid, María Llompart of Levante Badalona, and Nerea Nevado of Athletic Club Femenino.
Only Pajor behind the former FC Robo star in the hunt for the golden boot as the second-highest scorer in the Spanish Liga F.
She was previously recognized for her consistency in March 2024 when she was awarded Atlético’s Player of the Month. Now, she has been recognized once more.
This latest honor comes after Ajibade had a fantastic 2023–2024 season, winning Player of the Season honors at Atletico Madrid with 10 goals and 4 assists in 30 games.
Atletico Madrid’s success this season has been greatly attributed to the Super Falcons captain’s outstanding play, as the team is presently third in the table behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Only a few months after leading Nigeria to their first-ever 16-year qualification for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament, the former FC Robo star has gained notoriety.
Ever since joining Atletico Madrid in 2021, her career in Spanish football has taken off. She has become an important member of the team very fast and has always given standout performances.
Her most recent accolade, which further solidifies her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most promising football players on the world stage, is evidence of her ongoing development and impact on the field.
