Popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, was cleared by the Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, on Tuesday in connection with the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
According to Channels TV, Naira Marley had no case to answer after Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje reviewed and applied the legal guidance provided by the Directorate of Public Prosecution, Lagos.
In addition to Naira Marley, the court reportedly released Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde; Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy; and music promoter Samson Balogun, commonly known as Sam Larry.
However, the DPP stated that it will be prosecuting Mohbad’s buddy, Ayobami Sadiq, and the auxiliary nurse who treated him, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, for engaging in reckless and negligent behavior in violation of Section 251(e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The magistrate court will prosecute the pair.
