Nigeria Has Proclaimed Monday A Public Holiday In Observance Of The Holy Prophet Muhammad’s Birth

Nigeria’s Federal Government has proclaimed Monday of next week as a national holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the festival commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

On behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on this momentous event, both at home and abroad.

Tunji-Ojo pleaded for Nigerians and the Muslim Ummah to adopt a resilient, patient, and selfless mindset.

The Minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah on this momentous anniversary, but urged them to take use of the occasion to pray for long-lasting peace and a wealthy, equitable society.
