A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) MI-35P helicopter has crashed at Port Harcourt today, December 1, 2023.
The unfortunate incident occurred at about 7.45am shortly after the MI-35P aircraft took off for an operation against oil thieves in Rivers State. The statement said all five people on board survived the crash with minor injuries. The crew is being treated at the NAF Medical Center in Port Harcourt.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, is on his way to Port Harcourt to assess the situation, the statement said.
The Nigerian Air Force has released a statement saying that the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
