As the news of the staggering fuel price increase to N617 per liter spread like wildfire across Nigeria, Twitter erupted with a storm of emotions, opinions, and frustrations, with many using the #RenewedShege in mockery of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign mantra, ‘Renewed Hope”.
Many Nigerians felt that the constant rise in fuel prices was a burden too heavy to bear, especially considering the already strained economy and high unemployment rates.
Below are some of the reactions…
Fuel is now 617 naira/liter for everyone except Ogbeni Dipo who relocated back to Nigeria to enjoy Tinubu’s tenure.
He will be getting it at 286 naira/liter.

The same petrol that was 190 naira per litre two months ago is now 617 naira per litre.
Is this the renewed hope?

Increase in fuel price isn't affecting people that supported Tinubu, just we igbos are the ones buying it at 617 naira. Anyways, may this new price of fuel favor me and my family 🙏🏾
