The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that the Super Eagles performance at the ongoing Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) tournament in Cote d’Ivoire is a justification for President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
Ganduje, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, lauded the resilience of the Super Eagles in the action-packed clash.
The APC Chairman credited the team’s success to the renewed hope agenda and commended President Tinubu for supporting the tournament victory.
He urged the Super Eagles team to do everything at their disposal to bring the trophy back to the country.
“I congratulate the Super Eagles over their victory against Bafana Bafana of South Africa. I want to particularly commend them for the strength in character they displayed and in the previous matches, that is an indication of the true spirit of Nigerians.
“The Eagle’s victory has justified the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu administration.
“I urged them to go ahead and bring back home the coveted trophy. The country is proud of their doggedness. Up, Super Eagles! Up Nigeria!” Ganduje noted this in the statement.
Recall that Nigeria eliminated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-final clash of the ongoing African Cup of Nations Tournament.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties to defeat the South African side after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
