NYSC Camp: 25 Prospective Serving Corps Members Tested Positive for COVID-19

Including a nursing mother, 25 prospective corps member have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Gombe NYSC camp located in Amadda, Akko Local Government Area in the on-going exercise.

Dr. Habu Dahiru, Commissioner for said, no fewer than 25 corps member were tested positive in the last three days of the on-going exercise, adding that they have been moved to the state-owned isolation Centre to be quarantined at the Idris Mohammed infectious disease Centre, Kwadon, Yamaltu/Deba, Local Government area of the state.

The report of the test on affected victims came out public today, Saturday July 31st, 2021 in an explicit conversation through a telephone chat.

He also added to the conversation that a total 1,291were conducted on the available corps members posted to the state, out of which 25 came back positive.

Dr. Dahiru revealed that among the victims, is a seven-month-old nursing mother and three others were underlying ailments of hypertension and asthma.

The Chairman of the Incident Management Systems (IMS), Dr. Habu Dahiru has summoned on the public urging them to continue observing strictly social distancing as far as COVID-19 is concern, use face mask and washing of hands with soap, water and sanitizer on a regular basis.
