According to Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), corps members would begin earning a monthly allowance of N77,000 in February 2025.
Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 11 corps members in Katsina on Thursday, Ahmed revealed that the allowance was included in the 2025 Federal Government budget.
Although January is nearly over, the budget will be approved. Instead of the customary N33,000, you will begin getting N77,000 by next month (February), the NYSC DG stated.
He urged the corps members to return the favor during their service year, explaining that the Federal Government had authorized the N77,000 monthly allowance.
He reaffirmed his dedication to the safety and well-being of corps members nationwide, promising them that their service would not be sent to areas where there is a security risk.
“We will not send our corps members to places where there are security threats or challenges,” he said. They should have less confidence that the location is secure and safe for them to serve wherever we send them.
