Officials of NCDC, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, in Portharcourt have sealed off the office of a new generation bank in Onne, Eleme LGA, Rivers State. The decision was taken after the report reached the NCDC that many of the staff members in the bank have tested positive to coronavirus.
It was also reported that the Branch Manager of the bank had died after showing symptoms of coronavirus and testing positive to the virus. The NCDC officials have then proceeded to collect samples from the staff members after the death of the manager, all of which came back positive. The NCDC then proceeded to lock the office premises up, and put all the staff in an isolation centre within the state.
This development has, however, caused an uprising within the community as some residents call on the government for attention.
