Mr. Omotayo Adanlawo, a teacher has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure, the state capital for defiling a minor.
The convict was arrested in 2018 by men of the police command for defiling the 10 year old daughter of the founder of the church where he worshipped.
Prior to the judgment, it was gathered that the convict had been facing the trial for over two years while witnesses had been called by the court to testify on the matter in the court.
Justice Samuel Bola, the trial Judge, after the series of arguments from both prosecuting and defence counsels said the convict was unable to prove his innocence.
He also held that Adanlawo failed to give convincing evidence and testimony to prove his innocence. He sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment.
