The 97th Oscars, which will recognize the best films of 2024, had their nominations announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday.
The nominees announcement has rekindled anticipation for Hollywood’s most famous night after it was postponed twice because of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
The renowned Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood will host a live, televised ceremony on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to reveal the winners.
According to information on the Academy’s website, this year’s awards show a renewed dedication to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion, continuing the organization’s tradition of honoring artistic brilliance and narrative, and helping to shape a more dynamic and inclusive cinematic future.
To honor the most notable movies of 2024, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will bestow the coveted Academy Awards, commonly referred to as the Oscars, in 23 categories during the event.
For the first time in its history, the ceremony will be simultaneously streamed live on Hulu and televised live in the United States on ABC.
In addition to Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan returning as executive producers, comedian and podcaster Conan O’Brien will host for the first time.
