Remi Tinubu, the Nigerian First Lady, has pleaded with Nigerians to intensify their prayers, as only prayers can bring Nigeria out of the conundrum it currently faces.
The First Lady said this during her X handle on Monday, January 2, while reacting to the rescue of five sisters of the Al-Kadriyar family who were kidnapped in the Bwari area of Abuja.
In her words, the First Lady made us understand that only prayer can stop the constant acts carried out by terrorists, bandits, and other criminals across the country.
“I rejoice with the Al-Kadriyar family, friends, and Nigerians in general for the safe return of the Al-Kadriyar sisters. Prayer works, and I want to thank all Nigerians, especially mothers, for praying for the safe return of the Al-kadriyar sisters. Let us, however, not relent in our prayers.
Let us intensify our prayers, as it is prayers that would bring us out of this conundrum we find ourselves in as a nation. I commend our security agencies for their efforts and urge them not to relent in combating insecurity in our nation.”
On January 2, the sisters were abducted along with their father in the Bwari area of the FCT. Their uncle was killed during the process, as was Najeeba, one of the abducted girls, who was also killed after her family failed to provide the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
