A prison was discovered inside a dirty flat in Brazil and seven naked and hungry children were rescued.
The two mothers’ children range in age from three to seven years old. They were entrusted to the care of a 13-year-old girl, the children’s moms’ sister.
Their mothers, who also reside on the property, had shut the youngsters inside the house without adult supervision.
After receiving anonymous tips concerning the children’s situation, police officers went to the house. On June 4, police discovered the children confined inside the house in Macapá, Brazil, and had to hack through the metal gate to get to them.
They were dirty, famished, and unclothed, according to officials, and they also had the flu. They also had anemia and sores all over their bodies.
The property was dirty, according to officials, and there was no running water, drinking water, food, a kitchen, or a refrigerator on the premises.
One of the boys has autism, according to child protective services, and they are all undergoing medical treatment.
When cops arrived, the adolescent who was with the youngsters had been advised to look after them and to lie about her age if anyone inquired, claiming she was 17.
The 13-year-old girl revealed to the authorities that her two older sisters were the moms of the seven siblings, one of whom had three children and the other four.
Officials were unable to identify the women at first, but the two mothers eventually contacted child protective services to reclaim their children. For two of the children, they were only able to provide paperwork.
The children’s fathers and grandparents had also been sought by child protective services. They were, however, ruled unfit to take the children, who are still in foster care.
The case is being investigated by the police.
