Sheikh Nuru Khalid, the Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Juma’at Mosque in Abuja, has been sacked by the mosque’s steering committee for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over last Monday night’s attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
We recall that the Imam, during his sermon on Friday, criticized President Buhari for his failure to visit Kaduna after the terrorist attack.
He added that the president visited the state for campaigns but refused to visit after the bomb attack on the passenger train. This however led to his suspension.
It was further learned that on Monday afternoon, the mosque’s steering committee declared him sacked ascribing their latest decision to him not showing remorse.
The development was also confirmed by another Journalist, AbdulBaki Aliyu Jari.
He tweeted; “The management of Apo Legislative Quarters Central Mosque has disengaged Sheikh Nuru Khalid from his position of Imam.”
Khalid has been banned from preaching in the mosque.
The chairman of the committee, Senator Sa’idu Dansadau added that they fired Nuru Khalid altogether because he refused to show remorse after his suspension.
