Nigerian singer Peruzzi has vowed to sue an influencer who sparked a debate online by posting a fictitious tweet about him and Chioma Adeleke.
A photoshopped tweet that claimed Peruzzi was involved in a scandal involving Davido, the head of his record company, and Chioma, Davido’s wife.
The scandal started when @belikebaddy, a Twitter user, posted a faked tweet purportedly from Peruzzi’s account, implying that Davido had cut him off because of an alleged relationship with Chioma.
Peruzzi quickly clarified that he was not associated with the fake tweet, saying it was completely made up.
After seeing the manipulated tweet, Peruzzi warned @belikebaddy that disseminating incorrect information could have legal repercussions.
Following that, @belikebaddy apologized in public and took ownership of the fake tweet.
“I apologize for posting an edited tweet that involved @peruzzi and @davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions have caused, and I promise it’ll never happen again. My apologies to DMW Management,” he wrote.
