The Cause of Death of Renowned Nollywood Filmmaker Biyi Bandele Is Out

The renowned filmmaker Biyi Bandele passed away on August 16, 2022, and the Nigerian film industry is in sorrow. The circumstances behind Bandele’s death have now been made public by his family.

Cause of Death:

Temi Bandele, his daughter, claims that Biyi died quietly while sleeping as a result of consequences from his diabetes.

Memorials and Legacy:

Biyi Bandele has made incalculable contributions to African and Nollywood filmmaking. Among his noteworthy creations are:

  1. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton star in the 2013 adaption of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel, Half of a Yellow Sun.
  2. The 2015 drama Fifty examines the lives of four Lagos-based women.
  3. Blood and Henna (2007) is a historical drama that takes place in Nigeria during the Ebola outbreak in 1996.

Bandele’s remarkable storytelling, direction, and influence on the African cinema industry have been praised by colleagues and fans.

Nigerian playwright, novelist, and filmmaker Biyi Bandele (1967–2022) existed. He attended the University of Ife to study acting after being born in Kaduna, Nigeria. Bandele gained international renown for his work in theater, cinema, television, and literature.
