Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been officially named as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs by the Senate.
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole was confirmed as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development. Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda was confirmed as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Muhammadu Dingyadi was confirmed as Minister of Labour and Employment.
Idi Muktar Maiha has been approved as Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
The Senate looked over the names for about five hours before approving them.
Earlier, the Senate broke its rules to let Basheer Lado, who is the Special Adviser to the President on Senate issues, bring the nominees into the plenary. This was done after the leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, made the motion.
Thursday of last week, Godswill Akpabio, who is President of the Senate, read President Bola Tinubu’s letter naming the new ministers.
