The Stigma of having COVID-19 is making people hide their status – Survivor, Seun O.

Seun O, a professional photographer who arrived Lagos from London has shared his experience at his isolation centre in Lagos.

Seun had arrived in Nigeria for the 2020 edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Days after the event, news broke out that one of the attendees of the event has tested positive for COVID-19.

Seun while relishing his isolation experienced said the stigma in Nigeria is bad. He asserted that infected people at the Isolation centre does not want their faces be shown on camera because of stigmatization.

He went on to reveal very prominent people in the Nigerian society and Religious leaders with huge followers, were at his isolation centre, but don’t want their followers to find out because of the stigma attached to the virus.
