Tickets From Lagos To Abuja On Air Peace Will Cost N200,000 Starting In November

A one-way ticket on Air Peace from Lagos to Abuja would cost N200,000 starting on November 1, 2024.

In response to passenger complaints, airlines have raised their fares as a result of the challenging economic climate.

Some Nigerians have been forced to switch from flying to driving as a result of this trend.

Air Peace raised its fares to N200,000 starting November, the highest among domestic carriers, according to our correspondent’s checks on airline fares on Monday.

Aero charges between N94,000 and over N109,000. Arik Air charges between N104,405 and N139,292. Ibom Air charges between N124,000 and over N133,000. Air Peace’s website lists N200,000 and over for a one-way flight between Lagos and Abuja.

Due to the exorbitant cost of flying, many travelers have recently been left stranded at airports, unable to get flights to their destinations.

Lagos-Abuja and Abuja-Lagos, the busiest routes, are particularly affected because it is difficult for many passengers to get seats.

An Air Peace officer, who wishes to remain anonymous, verified the development and linked the raise to Nigeria’s current economic woes.

“If you purchase a ticket and observe the breakdown, you will find that our airline is losing money and that operating expenses are nearly out of control.

“As everyone is aware, the government receives all of these killing taxes, and businesses—particularly airlines—have been forced to take this action because it is the only option available to them.”

Additionally, attempts to reach Toyin Olajide, the company’s chief operating officer, were unsuccessful because she ignored inquiries sent to her phone by text and phone calls.

The rates at which “airfares are skyrocketing by the day without any clear explanation other than economy this, economy that, I will be left with no other option than take road transport as my new meanings of movement,” said Adeleke Aina, a businessman who told our correspondent that he has been traveling by air for years.

“Everything is dying because fuel has changed into what it is, and the Federal government doesn’t seem to care about this anomaly.” I worry about this nation.
