Minors arrested and arraigned for taking part in the #EndBadGovernance protest nationwide in August have been ordered to be released immediately by President Tinubu.
All minors arrested and facing legal action for their alleged involvement in the protest are to be released immediately.
Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, revealed this to State House correspondents in Abuja today, November 4.
President Tinubu also ordered that all law enforcement officials involved in the youngsters’ arrest, custody, and prosecution be looked into, and that anyone found to be at fault would be subject to the proper disciplinary measures, he added.
Idris added that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction was instructed by President
Tinubu to look into the welfare of the children. This follows a public outrage when videos of the children seeming undernourished and even collapsing during their arraignment before an Abuja High Court last Friday went viral
