Trump, the former Republican president, was getting close to a second term in office early Wednesday. He only needed a few electoral votes to beat Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice president.
So far, US news outlets think Trump has won in more than half of the 50 states. This includes Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, which were all close races and two of which went Democratic in the last election.
He now has 266 electoral votes, which is just short of the 270 he needs to become president. Fox News has already said that Trump will win.
Harris has won 195 electoral votes so far, including the main city of the US, Washington, as well as big states like California and New York.
Based on what CNN, Fox News, MSNBC/NBC News, ABC, and CBS think will happen, here is a list of the states each candidate won and the number of electoral votes that candidate got.
