On Wednesday, October 23, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) in Ankara, Turkey, was the subject of a horrific terror attack that left at least four people dead and fourteen injured. There has been widespread condemnation of the attack on the headquarters of the state-run aircraft business.
Two assailants were neutralized, according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who also verified the death toll. Yerlikaya strongly condemned the assault and reiterated Turkey’s steadfast dedication to fighting terrorism.
The strike was directed against Turkish Aerospace Industries, a significant defense firm. The firm is well known for manufacturing fighter jets and armed drones. The attack claimed the lives of four people and injured fourteen more. One accused assailant is still at large, while the other two attackers were dead.
Under the direction of Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc, an inquiry into the attack has begun. Mansur Yavas, the mayor of Ankara, lamented the death. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan while he was in Russia for the BRICS summit.
Putin continued, “We condemn any manifestations of this kind, no matter what their motivations are.” Officials from the US State Department are keeping a careful eye on the situation. Mark Rutte, the secretary general of NATO, told Turkey that NATO would always be there for them.
TUSAS is essential to Turkey’s defense sector. In 1973, the business became a part of Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Technology. TUSAS seeks to lessen Turkey’s defense industry’s reliance on outside sources.
The ongoing threat of terrorism is highlighted by this attack. In order to tackle terrorism, international collaboration is essential. Turkey continues to battle terrorism with tenacity.
The inquiry is still under progress.
