Recall that the former Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N48b Security votes, he has, however, been granted bail.
Theodore Orji was arrested with son Chinedu over alleged misappropriation of N2billion Ecological Fund and conversion of Sure-P funds while the former governor was in office between 2007 and 2015. They were intercepted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday, August 19.
The lawmaker, currently representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the Senate was asked to return to the EFCC office for further interrogation on Friday.
According to reports, Mr Orji was granted administrative bail after facing hours of interrogation at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja at about 9 p.m. on Thursday.
