‘What We Need To Do Is To Reform SARS And Make Them Responsible’- Frank Mba Tells Naira Marley

DCP Frank Mba during a live chat with Nigerian artiste, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, stated that the Nigeria Police Force cannot totally eradicate the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a special arm of the Force but can only reform SARS and make them responsive and responsible.

During the chat on Tuesday morning, Mba urged Nigerians to endeavour to always make videos of incidences involving operatives of SARS who abuse the fundamental human rights of Nigerians.

Mohammed Adamu, The Inspector-General of Police, had in a swift reaction banned SARS personnel from engaging in routine patrols, stop-and-search, mounting of roadblocks and traffic checks with immediate effect. But the #EndSARSNotBanSARS hashtag continues to trend on social media.

Mba speaking said:

“What we need to do is to reform SARS and make them responsive, responsible and make them work in accordance with laid down procedures. We need them to continue to respond to violent crimes. We need them to continue to respond to armed robberies. We need them to continue to respond to  kidnappings.”
