Zamfara’s Government Dethroned Two Emirs, District Head For Aiding Banditry

The Emirs, who were dismissed over their alleged involvement in banditry in Zamfara state, have been replaced by the state government. 

The dismissed Emirs are Emir of Zurmi Abubakar Atiku and that of Dansadau Emirate, Husaini Umar. They were arrested and detained at Government House Gusau for several months before being charged to court for alleged banditry.

The newly appointed Emirs are, Alhaji Muhammed Suleiman Bello for Zurmi emirate, Aliyu Garba Mafara of Birnin Yandoto Emirate, and Mohammed Aliyu of Bazai Emirate.

Kabiru Balarabe the o the state government said,

“The appointments of the three Emirs take immediate effect”.
