The incoming and currently crowned monarch, Prince Gbolahan Lawal was born on July 24,1970 and hails from the Ojora, Aromire, Shokun and Abisogun branch of Oniru Royal families.
Prince Lawal will succeed the former Oniru of Iruland Late Oba Idowu Abiodun who passed on at the age of 82years in 2019. The appointment took effect on Friday afternoon after the final approval by the Lagos State Executive Counsel.
Prior to his new appointment, Prince Lawal was ADC to Bola Tinubu during his term as the Governor of Lagos State.He was also a senior special assistant on special projects to former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola(SAN).
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo- Olu who also appointed Prince Lawal as Commissioner for Agriculture & cooperatives on sunday crowned and handed over the staff of office to the new Oba Gbolahan Lawal, Abisogun 11 as the 15th Oniru of Iruland Eti Osa Local Government area of Lagos State.
Despite the controversy from the Abisogun and Akiogun Ruling houses, Prince Lawal proceeds as Tinubu’s preference to occupy the throne.
