An 18-year-old teenager identified as Mubarak has been arrested for killing his mother’s boss, Mrs. Sidikat Anuoluwapo, over a cell phone worth N80,000.
It was gathered that Mubarak’s mother works for the deceased as a casual house keeper and cleaner and the suspect often accompany his mother to the house to work before the incident happened.
According to reports, investigations by the police in Ikare Akoko led to the arrest of the suspect and the cell phone of the victim was found on him
But for reasons relating to issues of a cellphone, the teenager in company of another suspect identified as Reliwan reportedly invaded the deceased’s house at Similoluwa area of Agbaluku in Arigidi Akoko area of the state recently to hack her to death.
It was reported that the deceased was thereafter found lifeless inside her room in the afternoon by one of her granddaughters who just returned from school.
Speaking on the incident, a police source said: “The two suspects disclosed that they scaled through the fence and not the main gate in the afternoon.
“Having gained entry, they went directly to the deceased room where she was lying on her bed after taking her bath. They both confessed they used wooden box to shatter her head while the second suspect strangulated her.
“The mother of one of the suspects is a casual house keeper and cleaner for the late Mrs Adamolekun. At times, she would come to work with the suspect.”
His mother Oluwasuen was said to have been arrested.
The case has been transferred to police headquarters in Akure.
