A Group Threatens That If Fubara Is Impeached, Rivers Will Boil.

Any attempt to remove the governor of Rivers State might lead to widespread violence, according to the Supreme Council for Sim Worldwide, a pro-Governor Siminalayi Fubara group.

Speaking at a news conference in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, group leader Esezi Obilor Rukani advised the 27 lawmakers who were advocating for Fubara’s ouster to change their minds because the people of Rivers State would oppose any effort to remove him.

“Everyone is aware of the impeachment procedure,” he said. Because the governor is a man of the people, the state will boil before it even begins. The people have something to do because they voted for the politicians, and they will have something to say to them, even if the governor does nothing.

His remarks follow Chief Tony Okocha, the chairman of the Rivers State APC, calling for Fubara’s resignation or impeachment due to alleged violation of the rule of law.

Additionally, he issued a warning that lawmakers who continue the impeachment process run the prospect of being recalled by their voters.

“Those who voted for them will oppose them, even if the governor doesn’t. You weren’t sent there to cause trouble, and they’ll start remembering you if you do.

“Simplicity does not equate to stupidity.” One should not take the governor’s simplicity for granted. Rivers State would have been in chaos by now if this governor were like some people who like to fight. However, Rukani stated that he is prepared to sacrifice everything for the stability of the state since he is a man of peace.

Rukani insisted that the governor had done nothing wrong and questioned the rationale behind demands for Fubara’s resignation.

“What offense has he committed that warrants his resignation? The last time, they sought to remove him from office without giving the public a reason. Some people who have never had good intentions for the state are now demanding that he step down or be impeached,” he continued.

Rukani reiterated the group’s backing for the governor and warned that there would be strong opposition to any attempt to remove him from office.

“We support the governor.” We are preparing our people for the second term, not even discussing this first one. The man will be healthy by the end of this first term, whether anyone likes it or not. He is a God-sent governor because he has accomplished what others were unable to.

“The Speaker and other legislators need to allow peace to prevail.” It wasn’t for conflict that you were sent there. We will recall you and take no action if you misuse the reason you were elected.

Ambassador Joshua Fubara, the group’s national leader and convener, also emphasized the governor’s accomplishments.

“The governor has accomplished a lot in a short period of time. He is a man who values peace. In addition to implementing numerous projects, like as the Trans-Kalahari Road and the Port Harcourt Ring Road, he has elevated state personnel, he noted.

While urging all political groupings to come together for the state’s advancement, he dismissed the push for impeachment as unfounded.

Instability in Rivers State, which plays a significant role in the country’s economy, might have national repercussions, he added.

The question of whether to impeach him or ask him to resign is irrelevant. We anticipate that the two groups will work together to advance Rivers State.

“Remember, we don’t want any crisis in this country, and if there is one in Rivers State, it will impact the entire nation,” he said.
