When Anne became persuaded that she was seeing Hollywood star Pitt, she lost €830,000 (£700k) in savings, she previously told French network TF1. After being requested to pay for Pitt’s cancer treatment, Anne was tricked into spending her life savings via phony social media accounts, WhatsApp messaging, and artificial intelligence images. It wasn’t until Anne learned of Pitt’s engagement to girlfriend Ines de Ramon that she started to suspect him.

According to TF1, Anne sold her furnishings and moved in with a friend after being defrauded of her life savings. She later made an attempt at suicide and was admitted to the hospital due to acute depression.
