A mother of nine has allegedly committed suicide in Delta State by hanging herself with her wrapper in the public toilet.
The act, which has thrown the community into confusion, occurred in Enamejewa Street, off Warri/Sapele road, Warri in Warri South local government area.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the mother of nine hanged herself with her wrapper in a public toilet of the compound where she lived.
Though fingers are pointing at the economic hardship as the probable cause of her action, factual reasons the woman took the drastic step are still unknown as of Tuesday.
The woman was an indigene of Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state and was described as a devout Catholic faithful.
It was also further gathered from the locals that she had earlier threatened to take her life to the hearing of her children.
The woman had earlier attempted to take her life by drinking a poisonous substance the previous day but was not successful.
It was gathered that it was one of her granddaughters who sensed that something was amiss when she observed that her grandmother had over stayed in the toilet.
The little girl was said to have raised an alarm that attracted the co-tenants and neighbors when she saw her grandmother hanging to death.
Sources also gathered that the remains of the mother of nine has been deposited in the mortuary of Central Hospital, Warri.
