On Thursday, May 6 at about 10:20pm an accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway claimed the lives of 14 passengers including 3 children.
According to reports, the accident involved a silver Toyota RAV 4 with registration number, LND 13 GS; a silver Toyota Camry marked, GGE 369 GJ and a Mazda bus with unidentified number.
A commercial bus was said to have reportedly overtaken a vehicle and ran into a stationary faulty vehicle, Toyota Rav 4 parked in the middle of the road. The bus was said to have lost control and somersaulted several times before bursting into flames.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the accident on Friday May 7 saying:
“In all, 17 passengers were in the bus when the crash happened, with three seriously injured, and 14 burnt beyond recognition, among which are three kids,”
