After consuming tainted food on stage three years ago, Nigerian actress Jemima Osunde has talked candidly about her life-altering health struggle.
After consuming the offered meal, Osunde contracted Helicobacter pylori, a stomach-infecting bacterium, and has been fighting gastroesophageal reflux disease ever since. She shared her thoughts on the situation in a post on X.com on Thursday.
“I’ve never regretted anything as much as I regret accepting that job and traveling to Ibadan to shoot under their supervision,” the actress wrote.
“I’ve been fighting for my life for the past three years due to H. pylori from set food and the aftermath of GERD.”
Osunde described the seriousness of her disease, saying that it has interfered with her daily life and that her entire digestive system has become her “greatest op.”
“This past month has been quite remarkable. Sigh. My best opportunity is in my own tummy. In fact, my whole GIT,” she continued.
