Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, a Nigerian actress, has addressed rumors that she left the US because of the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
Omotola responded to the rumors and informed her fans and followers that she and her family are safe in a statement posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday.
“I want to take a moment to address the incredible outpouring of concern and support regarding the fires in Los Angeles that I’ve received over the past few days,” she wrote. I want to start by expressing my gratitude to everyone who has reached out to me with love, prayers, and nice words. I appreciate your care so much.
The actress emphasized that her trip had nothing to do with the problem, even if she acknowledged the destruction inflicted by the flames in Los Angeles.
To be clear and correct the record, my family and I are safe,” she continued. But according to some sources, the flames forced me to leave the United States. This is not true.
“I am still in Nigeria as of right now, having arrived there in December 2024. Even though I treasure my relationship with Los Angeles, I did not travel because of these fires. I respectfully request that people and media outlets rectify this false information.
Additionally, Omotola offered her prayers and condolences to everyone impacted by the fires, particularly first responders and those who have lost their homes.
“At this trying moment, my heart is still in Los Angeles. For me, it’s more than simply a city; it’s a place where many dreams can come true, a home, and a community.
“My thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted, from first responders working tirelessly to those who have faced unimaginable loss, as the fires continue to threaten lives and homes,” she tweeted.
“This moment is a reminder of how interconnected we all are, regardless of where we stand in the world,” the actress said as she urged her fans to band together in support of organizations aiding those impacted. It is an appeal for solidarity, fortitude, and compassion.
“I extend an invitation to everyone, wherever you may be, to join me in prayer for Los Angeles and to support local organizations that are making a difference.”
Once again, I want to thank you for your understanding, love, and concern. We are stronger when we stand together. We shall rebuild together.
As Los Angeles County fights one of the biggest fires in the state’s history, U.S. President Joe Biden has announced a $770 federal aid package as a one-time payment to California wildfire victims.
The 29-fatal wildfires continue to be a major concern for Americans, according to Hollywood Unlocked.
