After committing her life to Christ, South African television star Kefilwe Mabote has revealed why she destroyed her expensive designer clothing.
Many people criticized Mabote for sharing a video of herself burning pricey designer clothing, claiming she could have given the clothing to others in need instead.
In a recent Instagram post, Mabote responded to the criticism by stating that her choice was firmly based in her faith and biblical principles.
She commented, “I want to take a moment to explain with care and understanding why I chose to burn Versace items instead of giving them away. I’ve been getting questions about that.”
“The choice to destroy the objects was made out of conviction. The Bible describes such things as “accursed” (for context, see Joshua 7:13). A Greek god from the aquatic kingdom, for instance, is represented by the picture of Medusa. As Christians, we are unable to serve two masters. I can’t honestly give up things that I know have profound spiritual meanings since doing so would be passing on something I no longer support.
