Godswill Akpabio, Senate President reacted on the rumours of extra-marital affairs, saying he is satisfied with his wife, Ekaette Akpabio.
Akpabio has been in the news for his choice of words in an exchange with Kogi lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on the floor of the Senate.
Aside from the incident with the lawmaker, the former Akwa-Ibom State governor was rumoured to have an extra-marital romantic relationship with several popular female personalities.
Addressing the incident and the rumour, Akpabio apologized to the lawmaker and blamed it on a communication breakdown.
“I will not intentionally denigrate any woman and I always pray that God will uplift women,” Akpabio said.
“Distinguished Senator Natasha, I want to apologise to you.
“The interest shown In the social media shows that we have enemies. I felt I should tender a public apology to you. I do not mean any harm. People should concentrate on things that will move this country forward
“Social media handlers should practice with decorum. We won’t out of anger regulate social media.”
“I don’t want to say what they did to me, because I don’t merit what they did to me. In my tradition, we marry only one wife. they listed so many wives on social media. At the end, it will look as if the Senate president has so many wives, but I’m reporting to my colleagues that I have only one (wife), and I’m satisfied with that one.”
