Franca Udokwu, 30 has been arrested by the police for allegedly throwing her newborn baby into a pit toilet in Ogidi.
The young mother who hails from Obuba Obofia Nkpor Community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State during interrogation by the police led the operatives to a pit toilet in her house where she dumped her baby.
The baby was rushed to Iyi- Enu Mission Hospital for medical attention but was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
However, Haruna Mohammed, PPRO Anambra State Police Command confirming the statement said while the baby’s body has been deposited at the mortuary, proper investigation would he conducted and the mother charge to court for murder.
