Bobrisky: Falz Demands An Apology And Retraction From VeryDarkMan For Making False Accusations.

Famous human rights attorney Femi Falana’s legal chambers have sent an official letter requesting the removal of disparaging remarks made about his son, Folarin Falana, often known as Falz.

The demand was made in reaction to claims that Falz was involved in a discussion about financial support and legal action with Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

Falana’s legal team wrote to Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, on his Instagram page on September 26, 2024. The letter was signed by Taiwo E. Olawanle, Esq. and suggested that Falz was part of a plot to get a presidential pardon for Bobrisky, who is facing legal issues related to allegations of Naira abuse.

The documents state that Bobrisky had asked Falz for financial assistance and legal counsel. He also demanded N3 million to be paid to correctional center officials so that he could receive VIP treatment while he was being held.

Falz told Bobrisky that these payments weren’t necessary, but Bobrisky persisted, so Falz declined to give him any money.

To correct the record, our client never struck up a conversation with Mr. Idris Okuneye, according to the paper. Documentary proof that Mr. Idris was the caller is available for our client to review.

In particular, Mr. Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, phoned our client on May 4, 2024, asking to speak with him over the phone. Knowing that he was facing accusations of Naira abuse, our client voluntarily provided assistance, sincere in his belief that he would need legal counsel.

Shortly after, Mr. Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, called and claimed he was in need of N3,000,000 (three million naira) in order to pay some officials and be allowed to stay in the VIP section of the Correctional Center. Instead of asking for legal advice, he claimed to be in distress.

During the same chat, our client informed him that he didn’t have to give any money to the Correctional Center officials. But Mr. Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, claimed that his attorneys had damaged his case by pressing him to enter a guilty plea to the accusations brought against him. Mr. Idris Okuneye, sometimes known as Bobrisky, persisted in asking for the money, despite our client’s constant opposition.

Falana’s group stressed that their client never asked for or consented to give Bobrisky financial support.

Instead, they called the post an attempt to damage Falz’s reputation and described it as “vicious, wicked, and reckless.”

The letter demanded a public apology on all platforms where the defamatory remarks were published, as well as an urgent retraction of the offending words within 24 hours of receiving the letter.

The letter continued, “Be advised that we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages, against you for your incendiary publication and dissemination of defamatory statements, provided we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded within 24 (twenty-four) hours of the receipt of this letter.”

According to the report, Bobrisky claimed in a widely circulated audio clip that was shared by VeryDarkMan that certain officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission asked for and obtained N15 million from him in exchange for dropping allegations of money laundering.

In response to Bobrisky’s charges regarding the viral recording, the EFCC ordered an instant inquiry into the claims.
